Welcome to The Valley Parish

‘Standing the Test of Time’

UPDATE – Fundraising total now stands at £87000. Thank you

On Wednesday 17th May The Valley Parish launched its ‘Standing the Test of Time’ fundraising appeal. We are blest with 3 beautiful ancient listed buildings, two Grade 1 and one Grade 2*, all of which are set in the heart of the villages they serve. The buildings have been at the heart of the life of the Parish for almost 1000 years but are now sadly showing their age. Urgent work is needed on the towers of All Saints, East Dean and St Andrew’s, West Dean, and the beautiful stained glass window in The Blessed Virgin Mary, which was designed by William Wailes, needs some TLC to prevent its collapse.

The total cost of the urgent works to all three buildings amounts to £344,000. We know this seems an enormous sum of money, but we are confident that with hard work, determination, and the support of the community we will be able to save these wonderful buildings.

More information can be found in each of our churches, together with copies of the fundraising brochure and donations forms, or you can donate online via our JustGiving page – www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/thevalleyparish

The three parish churches of All Saints’ East Dean, The Blessed Virgin Mary Singleton, and St Andrew West Dean are all ancient buildings which sit in the Lavant Valley, north of Chichester in the South Downs National Park.  They serve the three large villages above and the smaller hamlets of Binderton, Charlton and Chilgrove.
