The Ecclesiastical Parish of East Dean, Singleton and West Dean

The Parochial Church Council is a charity, excepted from registering with the Charity Commission within the meaning of section 30 of the Charities Act 2011. Its governing document is the Parochial Church Councils (Powers) Measure 1956.

Membership of the PCC is determined under the Church Representation Rules and consists of certain ex-officio members (the Incumbent, the churchwardens and members of the Deanery Synod) and twelve members of the church who are elected at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM).

The PCC currently consists of the following members:

Incumbent Reverend Sarah Manouch BA

Churchwardens Wendy Goacher; John Holt

Deanery Synod Representative Geoffrey Morris

Elected Members Karen Searle Barrett; Wendy Heather; Richard Stephens; Oliver Peirson; Thomas Shaw; Helen Morris; Christine Standing; Jennifer Neelands; Sarah John; Jane Rice

Safeguarding Officer Sarah Peirson

Electoral Roll Officer Heather Baker

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting takes place usually around the end of April and is open to anyone who is resident in the Parish. However only those whose names are on the parish electoral roll are eligible to vote at the meeting. Churchwardens are elected every year and elected PCC members serve a three year term. The PCC meets at least 6 times a year.

The Electoral Roll

This is the basic list in every parish of all those entitled to vote on elections within the Church of England. Those entitled to have their names on this roll have to be 16 years of age or more and they must reside in the relevant parish or be regular worshippers in the church whose roll they wish to join. The roll is completely renewed every six years, at which point all members have to re-apply for membership. By this means, the continuing validity of the roll is maintained.

There are currently 110 people on our Parish electoral roll. You can join at any time, and if you wish to do so, please click on the link to download an application form, which can be handed to any PCC member.
